Krispy Kreme Korea 2013-11-25

Background

On July 13th, 1937, Vernon Rudolph bought a secret yeast-raised doughnut recipe from a New Orleans French chef, rented a building in what is now historic Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC, and began selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to local grocery stores. Today, there are over 500 Krispy Kreme franchises all across the world. 

Krispy Kreme first opened in South Korea on December 2004 in Sinchon-dong, Seoul. The Korean franchise is owned and operated by the Lotte Group. Over the past few years Krispy Kreme South Korea have many strore, fifteen in Gyeonggi-do (Seoul) and two in Busan and one in Daejeon. In 2009, Krispy Kreme has a total of 30 stores in South Korea.
