Hurlingham Club 2014-07-02

Recognised throughout the world as one of Britain's greatest private members'clubs, The Hurlingham Club was established in 1869 and boasts first-class social and sporting facilities from its 42 acre location on the Thames in Fulham, including award-winning gardens, hospitality, fine dining, sports facilities and retail outlets. 

With numerous amenities spanning across its extensive estate, the club needs to be able to put POS systems anywhere within its grounds. Previously the Hurlingham Club had been using an EPOS system that didn't provide this flexibility. Network connections of the quality required were not always available and the previous supplier had a limited understanding of UK tax and data regulations.

The Hurlingham Club sought a UK based software supplier whose product could handle the complexities of club transactions across hospitality, fine dining, sports and retail areas whilst also offering an internal credit card and option for future upgrades and expansion.

After looking at a number of software suppliers, the Hurlingham Club decided that myPOS would be the best solution provider for their unique and varied requirements.

The existing POS hardware had proved unable to withstand the vigours of frequent re-siting and the damage caused by unfriendly environments such as kitchens and bars. myPos suggested a new family of FEC hardware which was both suitable to the present and future needs of the system and was capable of withstanding the rigours of deployment around the clubhouse and grounds.

A total of 30 FEC RP-3500 POS systems with integrated Chip and PIN, card swipe function and WiFi were installed across the Hurlingham Club. The FEC hardware was implemented in a "big bang" with replacement of the hardware that was nearing end of life. This was followed by completion of hardware deployment. All EPOS systems run Windows XP operating systems with front end and back office software supplied by myPOS.

As part of their estimated £200,000 IT refresh budget, The Hurlingham Club will continue to rollout further improvements in service and integrations to other processes such as the sports facilities booking system. They will also introduce at table ordering and settlement for F&B services including banqueting.
